ENTRY FEES

  • The fee for participating in the regatta is $80.00. This includes lunch on both days. Registrations received after August 2, 2024, must pay a late registration fee of $95.00. Competitors, companions, and others may purchase dinner from the reasonably priced menu in the Club dining room.
  • Competitors using borrowed boats must provide a $500.00 damage deposit.

What is a regatta?

A regatta is a sporting event consisting of a series of sailboat races held over 2 days, usually a Saturday and Sunday. There is usually 3 to 4 races that you do per day. The regatta winner is the person that has the lowest point score. Awards are usually given to the top 3 racers. In Able Sail regattas sailors are divided into two fleets - Gold fleet for more experienced racers and the Silver fleet for those who are honing their racing skills. In the Silver fleet sailors sail with a companion that can coach you as you sail, the companion cannot touch the steering or the main and jib sails, otherwise the sailor is disqualified.
