"A Toronto club focused on accessibility in sailing says they're growing fast and need volunteers. David Zura explains and find out how this club is helping others across Canada.

Able Sail Toronto's 2024 Season Opener was held Sunday, June 2nd, 2024, celebrating its 5th anniversary. The wheelchair accessible docks, adapted Martin16 sailboats and technology such as windlasses, lifts, davits and specialized seating were demonstrated.

Today, June 2nd, 2024 at Able Sail Toronto's 2024 Season Opener Able Sail Toronto announced the partnership between Suzuki Canada and Able Sail Toronto out of National Yacht Club. Suzuki Canada has provided Able Sail Toronto with a specially designed Great Lakes 460 Safety / Coach boat powered with a Suzuki DF40ATL.

On April 30, 2024 Able Sail Toronto founders Jacqueline Czernecki and Karen-Ann Xavier received Community Leadership Awards from Member of parliament for the Federal Electoral District of Spadina-Fort York, Kevin Vuong.

The awards states:

In recognition of your outstanding dedication, unwavering commitment to the community, and exemplary leadership. Your tireless efforts are an inspiration to others and have contributed to the betterment of our city and country. Your acts of service have made a profound impact on the lives of those around you. Jacqueline said: “This award is really for everyone who helped to make Able Sail Toronto possible.”

On behalf of Scotia Wealth Management and Vaughan Together, we were extremely proud to support the Mobility Cup and Able Sail Toronto. We raised $7,500 toward a great cause to help those with ability challenges to compete in a sailing competition. To all the athletes, coordinators and other sponsors thank you for hosting us for a wonderful evening to celebrate your successes.
