Learn emergency radio procedures and everyday operating techniques. Course content covers the uses of marine radios, choice of frequencies, operation, phonetic alphabet, procedural words and phrases, as well as Digital Selective Calling and the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (DSC/GMDSS).
Registration includes course textbook, textbook, in person review session and examination for the Restricted Operator Certificate (Maritime) with DSC Endorsement. Please note that independent study is required prior to the course date.
Successful participants will receive their ROC(M) License, which is a lifelong certification and a requirement for all those using a VHF radio. This course also can be taken to upgrade your license to include DSC endorsement.
To operate a maritime radio, you need the certificate. It’s the law!
